Day Eighteen
Roll with it…
Psalm 37:5 KJVS
[5] Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
The older I get the more I learn that I’m not as smart as I think I am. Most of us feel great about ourselves when we’ve achieved some sort of success or accomplished a lofty goal. It’s very human to take immediate credit for the things that go right for us. But what I have learned is that when I take all the credit, I very seldom have repeat success. Now if you’re like me, you don’t want to have hit and miss success. Every soul longs for consistency. Maybe if we submit to the idea that our success belongs to God because He gave us our gifts and the opportunities to use them, we would see success more regularly. In other words your success is not about you as much as it’s about the one you’re committed to.
The text says: “Commit thy way unto the Lord.”
The phrase translated from Hebrew means to roll your life’s journey onto the Lord’s road or path. It means to commit your journey to travel exclusively on the roads and paths that God has planned and constructed just for you. And when you do this, the scripture says: “He shall bring it to pass” The word “pass” is another Hebrew word (Aw-Saw)
It means to do something for someone, through someone or to someone in the widest application possible. In other words, God is saying, if you just stick to the road that I have you on, if you just do it the way I planned it for you, everything you need for your purpose and destiny will happen to the fullest capacity. God calls us to do it His way to really walk in the fullness of our potential and the fullness of God’s promises.
Let’s pray….
Father, Your word tells us to acknowledge You in all of our ways and You will direct our journey. Lord, we roll away our will to walk on the path of Your will. And we pray for the wisdom and strength to hold fast to Your path even when we can’t understand, or even when we feel far from home and far from grace. Jesus, You have our trust..
Amen…
Lord help me to be allergic to every detour along the way in Jesus name. 😁
LORD I want more and more of you thank you for my journey AMEN
Glory!
Amen!!!
