Day Three – CWC First Fruits Devotional

Day Three
You Got This…

Psalm 34:1 KJV
[1] I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

We all experience times when we must do something good in the middle of a bad situation. We may have to think positively about a negative situation. Day three of a consecration or sacrifice can be one of the toughest days to maintain. Day three is when you start to struggle mentally Day three is when the journey seems like it’s been too long with still, a long way to go. Day three is when you start forgetting the purpose for the fast. This is when I lean on the thirty-fourth Psalm. It is a Psalm of praise but it is also a Psalm of great resolve. David makes a decision in this Psalm. He decides that no matter what; he will bless the Lord. It just so happens that at the time when these words first came out of David’s mouth, he was facing a life threatening situation. 1 Samuel 21 is where the actual scene takes place where David is scared for his life because he believes that Achish the king of Gath (Goliath’s hometown) is going to have him killed. The scripture tells us

that David pretends like an insane person and rolls around on the ground, beats on the doors, let’s his saliva fall down his face. But the entire time He was praising God out of his mouth; “I will bless the Lord at all times”. The really insane part of this story is that Achish the king of Gath let DAVID go free. Was it the insanity or was it the praise? Now we all know the answer to that question; but just in case you don’t know, it was the insanity of his praise. When you can look at all of your calamity, despair, discomfort and issues and still offer God a praise, this shows God and the enemy where your priorities and loyalties are. Child of the most high God, you’ve got this.

Let’s pray….

Father we thank You this day for our daily bread which represents our daily supply of strength. We understand that all of are strength, help and resources are in You and You alone. So today father we lean into Your strength as we walk this journey today. Our confidence is in You only..

In JESUS name, Amen…

  1. This is perfect, an insane praise. In the midst of your bad situation sometimes you get caught up and don’t want to praise. Your mind gets consumed with the issues. One thing in my life that is consistent and that’s my praise. Regardless as to where we are and what we are dealing with “YET WILL I PRAISE HIM”.
    Amen
