Day Two – CWC First Fruits Devotional

Day Two
Love, Power, Discipline…

2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

[7] For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power
and of love and of a sound mind.

There is peace and rest and sweet relief in Christ Jesus. But there is also much work to do. Often God requires things of us that are not necessarily comfortable, as a matter of fact sometimes it can be terrifying. We all have God given gifts that come very easy for us but often times what God is calling us to has nothing to do with what we are gifted in. I will be the first to admit that it is a scary place.

If we are not careful we can allow the enemy to convert what is really just uncertainty and nervousness, into fear. The danger of fear is that it is a spirit; a spirit that did not originate from God. Spirits only fall into two categories; the spirit of God and the spirit of darkness. Fear is a dark spirit that comes to rob you of your purpose and destiny. But God gives us a spirit that goes to war against fear; that’s the spirit of power, love and sound mind. It means that we never have to be fearful or scared of God’s calls and assignments on our lives. He called you because He loves you and knows that He can trust you with this assignment. He won’t leave you alone to complete the task; He gives you power and a sound mind, which is strength, wisdom and discipline. So if you are afraid to fly in airplanes, but your assignment and your calling requires that you fly, “Fear” says I’m too scared to but your “Sound Mind” says I have to be disciplined enough to push pass and cast out the spirit of fear, move in power and get on this plane so I can be obedient to my God.

Let’s pray…
Father, I thank You for believing in us. What an awesome privilege it is that You would chose us to participate in Your work in the earth. We declare that we will operate in a spirit of boldness and we pray that You will endow us with supernatural confidence and wisdom for our journey.
Thank you father,
Amen…
