Day Fifteen
It’s above me…
Philippians 4:7 NKJV
[7] and the peace of God, which surpasses all
understanding, will guard your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus.
There is peace, and there is the peace of God. Our
peace involves tranquility and quiet or it implies civil
harmony; a time when there is no war. This type of
peace is easily comprehensible but there is another
peace. God’s peace; God’s peace is so powerful that
there is no explanation for it. Nobody but God knows
how it works. Even with all of the thousands of scholars
that had a hand in writing, translating, editing and
writing commentary on the Bible, the only words that all
of those genius people could come up with to describe
this peace was: “It passes all understanding.” This
means that God’s peace is superior to any other kind of
peace. It’s completely unexplainable to the human eye
how you can go through all that you have been
through, and still have peace. It is literally above and
beyond comprehension. The scripture proclaims that
God will give us His peace and it will guard our hearts
and minds. The word guard there is translated from the
Greek word: φρουρέω; pronounced “froo-reh’-o”. The
word means to protect by military guard, to prevent
hostile invasion.
Now I don’t have to tell you that we live in a hostile
world. And the prince of the power of the air (Satan),
takes the world’s hostility and aims it at our lives. He
does this on a daily basis, every day you wake up there
he is. But let me tell you that he is extremely frustrated
at all times because he never really gets the
satisfaction he’s looking for. God’s peace has already
surrounded you and as long as you stay under His
protective custody, nothing can harm you. It may look
like a threat, it may even be scary but God’s army of
angels stand watch at the gate of our lives and their
banners declare the word of the Lord;
Psalm 27:1-4 KJV
[1] The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I
fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall
I be afraid? [2] When the wicked, even mine enemies
and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they
stumbled and fell. [3] Though an host should encamp
against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should
rise against me, in this will I be confident. [4] One thing
have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I
may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my
life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in
his temple.
Amen…
