DAY TWELVE – CWC FIRST FRUITS DEVOTIONAL

Day Twelve Stand Still

13 And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever

If we are all being honest, we’ll admit that there are things that we want from God. I understand that we love Him because He first loved us. I understand that we don’t serve Him just for what He can give us. But it would be dishonest not to admit that we are excited about His benefits. There is nothing wrong for be excited about the perks of being in relationship with the Father. That being said, God is not Santa Clause… His benefits come as a result of being close and having consistent communication with Him. And if we have relationship with God then we know that one of His favorite moves is to require us to wait. Our problem is, we ask God to do things for us that we aren’t willing to wait

for. We ask God for stuff that we aren’t willing to be patient for. If God takes too long to answer our call then a lot of us start making moves on our own in an attempt to bless ourselves. Think about how ridiculous it is to replace the Blessings Of The Lord with things you can go get for yourself.
In this text Moses is leading the Israelites out of Egypt and they have come to a place where they are stuck with nowhere to go. God gives Moses a command that certainly extends to us today, and that is “Stand Still”. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. The wisdom in that is powerful. Stand Still. You don’t have the power or the resources to fix it. Stand Still. If you could fix it yourself, you would’ve done it by now. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. In other words God is saying: you don’t have to do anything but watch me work. As a matter of fact I wish we were in church right now because I would tell you to lean over to your neighbor and tell them: “just sit back, relax and enjoy the show.” God is the show and your life is His stage.

Let’s pray…
Father, we give You glory and honor in every moment of our lives. We thank You Jesus for allowing us the privilege of seeing You work and being able to witness Your goodness while we are in the land of the living.
Glory to God Forever, Amen..
